Name of the vacant position:

Deputy Head of the Centre for Teaching Excellence

Main functional responsibilities of the structural unit:

1.Creation of effective system of professional and pedagogical excellence improvement for the teaching staff of Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay;

2.Development of new educational programs for pedagogical excellence, reflecting changes in the content of university teaching and secondary education;

3.Creation of new trend of pedagogical excellence of educators that reflects current global trends in education;

4.Influence on level of professional and pedagogical training of university teachers and secondary education teachers and as a consequence on quality of education for students in secondary and technical and vocational education;

5.By means of qualification upgrading of pedagogical staff rating of Kazakhstani education in international comparative studies such as TIMSS, PISA, PIRLS;

6.creation of sustainable system for training of managers of educational organizations in Kazakhstan.

Main responsibilities:

-manages the centre of distant education performing the work on organization and carrying out the courses according to the Rules of the organization of educational process on distant education technologies;

- organizes work on improvement of the pedagogical skill with use of remote educational technologies:

- develops, places and maintains author`s courses of leading teachers of the University on the educational portal of the University;

- Increases the effectiveness of the learning process at all levels of education through the introduction of blended learning technology;

- develops and publishes the University`s Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs);

- develops accelerated educational programs of Bachelor`s degree (second higher education and on the basis of secondary special education) using distance learning technology;

- information and marketing support for undergraduate and postgraduate educational programs, including the use of distance marketing tools;

- information, software and technical support of all educational programs at university with the use of distance learning technologies;

- participates in the formation and justification of perspective and annual work plans, curricula for professional development and educational-research developments, determines the importance and necessity of their implementation, ways and methods of solving them

- takes initiatives to find foreign and domestic partners to develop joint projects and scientific-methodological cooperation.

Education:

Higher education.  An academic degree of at least a master`s degree is preferred.

Required professional experience (duration, field, other)

At least five (5) years of experience.

Professional certifications.

Professional competencies:

Ability to work with documentation, process and analyse textual and statistical information, draw conclusions, work in a team, translate documents (from Russian to Kazakh, etc.), express thoughts clearly and competently, analyse and evaluate strengths and weaknesses of the organisation, identify sources of risks, work on MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) and MOODLE platforms, have digital literacy, skills to work on various digital platforms and applications.

Personal competencies and qualities:

Communicability, conscientiousness, proactive attitude to life, stress resistance, creativity, organisational skills, punctuality, easy learner, neatness.

Knowledge of languages, including the state language (list of languages that the candidate must speak)

Kazakh - fluent

 

 Russian - fluent

 

English will be an advantage

Computer skills:

Good command of MS Office package, Google Drive/Docs/Meet, ZOOM, skills to work on online platforms.
