Abai University student took 1st place at the Republican Olympiad

On May 29-30, 2024, the republican subject olympiad among Kazakhstani university students majoring in Foreign Languages: Two Foreign Languages (English language) was held at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The organizers of the olympiad were the Department of Academic Affairs and the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages at the Faculty of Philology of ENU. 100 students from 24 universities participated in the Olympiad. 4 students of the Department of Foreign Languages - Bakzor Alnur, Aikhan Torekeldi, Aisana Oskenova, and Akzhan Abdumanap - participated in this olympiad. It should be noted that these 4 students were selected based on the results of an olympiad organized by the Department of Foreign Languages at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University on February 15, 2024.

The Republican Olympiad consisted of two stages.

Stage 1: Interview with the contestants and methodological questions pertaining to the academic program.

Stage 2: Project defense.

As a result of the republican olympiad, Bakzor Alnur was awarded a first-degree diploma, and Aikhan Torekeldi and Oskenova Aisana were awarded a diploma for excellent results. The academic supervisor of the students was Dana B. Shayakhmetova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor.

The active participation of students in the olympiad was organized by Serik Ivatov, the Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, and Assem Muslimova, the teacher of this department.
