"SYMPHONY OF COLORS" EXHIBITION HELD


This year marks the 100th anniversary of Moldakhmet Kenbayev, a distinguished figure in Kazakh fine arts and a People`s Artist of Kazakhstan. In honor of this significant milestone, Abai University organized a plein-air art session in the picturesque natural surroundings last week. Today, based on the artworks created during the plein-air, the concluding exhibition titled "Symphony of Colors" took place. The event brought together university faculty members and talented students.


On October 10, lecturers and students from the Faculty of Arts participated in the plein-air, producing works in painting, graphics, and installation. The aim of the project was to foster creative potential, enhance professional skills, and enrich the university`s art collection with new pieces. The plein-air was supported by the university`s trade union.


Today, in front of the main building of Abai University, the exhibition "Symphony of Colors", dedicated to the theme of autumn, officially opened. The participating artists masterfully conveyed the vibrant colors of the season, dedicating their works to the 100th anniversary of Moldakhmet Kenbayev. Young artists showcased the national traditions of Kazakh painting and expressed their respect for the legacy of the renowned master.


During the opening ceremony, Maksat Zhakauov, Vice-Rector for Social Development, emphasized the importance of the event, praised the participants for their creative work, and presented Letters of Appreciation to both faculty members and students.


Guests and university staff viewed the exhibition and paid tribute to Moldakhmet Kenbayev, who made a significant contribution to the development of Kazakh fine arts. The exhibition became an important initiative aimed at supporting young artists and promoting national cultural heritage.


For reference, Moldakhmet Kenbayev (1925-1988) was a People`s Artist of Kazakhstan and a prominent figure in Kazakh fine arts. His works skillfully portrayed the national culture, nature, and lifestyle of the Kazakh people, leaving a rich artistic legacy for future generations.
