KARIM ALIMKHANULY - LAUREATE OF THE STATE YOUTH AWARD «DARYN»


Karim Alimkhanuky, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Doctor of Philosophy, and painter, has been awarded the State Youth Award “Daryn” for his creative and academic achievements.


The State Youth Award “Daryn” is granted annually to support talented young people in science, creativity, public activities, and high sports achievements. The award has been presented since 1992 in specially designated categories.


Painter Karim Alimkhanuky has developed a distinctive style in the field of visual arts and is recognized for his creative work. Between 2009 and 2013, he studied “Fine Arts and Drawing” at Taraz State Pedagogical University, and in 2013–2015, he earned a Master’s degree in Pedagogy at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University. From 2015 to 2020, he obtained a PhD in Art Studies at Hacettepe University in Ankara and became a Doctor of Philosophy in “Art” in 2023.


Karim’s artworks have been exhibited at numerous exhibitions in Kazakhstan and Turkey. His first solo exhibition “Colors Have Their Secret” was held in Taraz in 2013. Later, he organized exhibitions “Fragmented World” in Ankara in 2018 and “Creative Hands” in 2019. He has also participated in international exhibitions and competitions, winning the Grand Prix at the “100 Years of Çanakkale” competition in 2016 and third place in the “Çayolu Rotary Club” painting competition in 2019.


Currently, he serves as Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, contributing significantly to the development of students’ creative abilities. Under his leadership, the exhibition “On Abai’s Path” was first opened at the Central Museum of Kazakhstan and continues in the university’s creative gallery.

Receiving the State Youth Award “Daryn” reflects Karim’s diligence and genuine dedication to art. He serves as an inspiration to his peers and contributes significantly to the rich creative potential of our nation.


 

This year, over 300 candidates applied for the prestigious youth award, with 294 reviewed by the commission. The contest was held in 10 categories. The award ceremony will take place on November 25. Laureates will receive a diploma, a badge, and a monetary prize.
