The National Dictation Project Held Nationwide
Today, the nationwide cultural and educational project "National Dictation" took place across the country. The initiative aims to enhance the status of the state language and improve citizens` writing literacy. Participants were provided with special sheets, and the dictation text was read in three stages: preparation, writing, and verification. For native-level speakers of the state language, the dictation featured an excerpt from Akhmet Baitursynuly`s article "Oqu jaiy," originally published in 1913 in the Qazaq newspaper. Participants learning the state language as a second language were offered a short text on the topic "Otan" ("Motherland").
At the end of the dictation, participants were able to compare their work with the original text and review their writing for any mistakes. According to the project guidelines, participants are not required to write their names on the sheets, though anonymized submissions may be used for statistical research.
The "National Dictation" project serves as an important effort to promote literacy and strengthen the linguistic culture of citizens. Organizers expressed gratitude to all participants and encouraged continuous improvement in state-language proficiency.
