Exhibition "Khud-graph: Fidelity and Service to Art"

On February 2, 2024 the opening of the exhibition "Khud-graph: Fidelity and Service to Art" dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports of the Abai KazNPU was held in the State Enterprise "Almaty auenderi" under the Department of Culture of Almaty. The creative event was held jointly with Almaty Gallery.

More than 70 watercolour, oil and graphic works, as well as sculptures of small forms by famous artists and sculptors of modern Kazakhstan are exhibited in the exhibition hall of Almaty Art Gallery. The presented works are executed in landscape, portrait, historical and everyday genres, are diverse in theme and technique of execution. The authors, who have academic art education and are looking for new forms in their work, are united by a deep attachment to their roots, respect and interest in the history of their people, which they convey through their works. The exhibition is called to show the creative potential of the modern alma mater of the national art education, milestones and results of tireless searches and artistic experiments, experience and achievements of artists-teachers of Kazakhstan.

As it is known, on 1 October 1928 the first higher education institution was opened in the country, which became a forge of personnel of intellectuals of Kazakhstan. Many outstanding scientists and cultural figures worked, studied and created here, among them graduates of the Faculty of Art and Graphic Arts - the first specialised educational institution in the field of professional art education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This year the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sport celebrates its 55th anniversary (in 1969 in the then called KazPI named after Abai the Faculty of Art and Graphic Arts was opened).

The Institute is rightly proud of its graduates, they are a whole pleiad of famous figures of culture and art, famous graphic artists and painters, sculptors and teachers: Yerbolat Tolepbai, Muratbek Nurlybaev, Omirbekov Baitursyn, Ospanov Baimurat, Vladimir Vlasiuk, Shokan Tolesh, Arken Zulfikar, Vyacheslav Lyuiko, Batima Zaurbekova, Nelli Bube, Alpysbai Kazgulov, Tokkozha Kozhagulov, Alexey Begov, Shokparuly Darkembay, Nurlan Kilybaev, Marat Nisupov, Januzak Mussapir, Almukhambetov Berikzhan, Murataev Kurman, Zholaushy Turdygulov, Janaev Miyat, Zhuravlev Nikolay, Brener Alexander, Sadyrbaev Yesengali, Narymbetov Moldakul. And it - only a part of loud names. Today in the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports work professors, doctors and candidates of sciences, associate professors, honoured workers and honoured workers of culture, members of the Union of Artists of RK, members of the Union of Designers of RK and other creative associations, who together with their students take an active part in exhibitions, festivals, competitions in Kazakhstan and countries near and far abroad.
