Legal assistance is a time requirement


As the President of the country Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted: «One of the priorities of volunteer activity is to provide legal assistance to those in need,» the Department of «Jurisprudence» of the Institute of History and Law of Abai KazNPU opened a «Legal Clinic» in continuation of its annual campaign to provide free legal assistance. Associate professor G. B. Meirbekova, the head of the club «Zanger», and the head of the research work of students were appointed as the head of the «Legal Clinic».


The grand opening of the «Legal Clinic» of the Department of «Jurisprudence» was held, which was opened by the director of the Institute, Professor Dzhunusov A.M., and the vice-rector for Research Work of the University, Professor Buribayev E. A. and Chairman of the Medeu District Court of Criminal Cases of Almaty Malikova A. Sh. Attended by the head of the Department of Political Science and Socio-philosophical Disciplines, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Simtikov Zh. K., Deputy Director of the Institute for Scientific Work Muratkazin M. M., Head of the Department «Jurisprudence» Candidate of Law Kushpenbetov B. M. and all members of the department.


The legal clinic was established with the aim of helping low-income families, forming concepts of mercy among citizens, as well as improving the legal literacy of citizens.


Assistance, including in the form of consultations, information, preparation of documents, representation of interests in courts and state bodies.


The Legal clinic is provided by undergraduate and graduate students under the guidance of leading teachers and practical lawyers in all branches of law.


The main tasks of the legal clinic are legal advice and the drafting of legal documents; pre-trial representation; representation in court for socially vulnerable categories of population in exceptional cases; implementation of the pilot project by Medeu district court of Almaty; cooperation with Adal Komek Foundation; legal advice to the media and participation in national campaigns to provide free legal advice to the country`s population.
