Chair of Oriental Philology and Translation of the Institute of Philology of Abai KazNPU corresponds to the main regulatory documents defining its functioning. The Chair of Oriental Philology and Translation in accordance with the state license of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (License series AB No. 0137373 dated 3 February 2010) provides training for highly qualified specialists.

The main direction of work of the Chair of Oriental Philology and Translation in the 2023-2024 academic year is to train highly qualified specialists who are professionally competent in the field of foreign languages not only with special knowledge, but also with humanitarian culture, ethical and legal standards, with a culture of thinking and the ability to organize on a scientific basis your work, acquire new knowledge.

The main tasks of the bachelor are:
- foreign language teaching methods and technologies;
- development of student interest in foreign languages in the framework of training;
- formation of skills of foreign language self-education;
- fostering a sense of internationalism, love of the cultures and traditions of other nations;
- development of intercultural communicative competence.
