On the preparation of graduate students for the professional activity of a language teacher in the framework of the updated content of school education

From September 1st to September 15th 2021, on the basis of the Department of Russian Language and Literature of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education of our university, students of the 3rd and 4th years of graduation courses of the specialty «Russian Language and Literature» listened to a series of lectures on the topic «Updated content of school education»; lectures were accompanied by practical assignments, including those intended for the IWST. The specified course of lectures was delivered by Gulmira Kazhigaliyeva.

It is important to note the relevance and significance of this event, since future teachers should be well aware of the ongoing transformations in the educational field.

Acquaintance at lectures with the concept of building an updated standard program, with the spiral principle of its compilation, with the system of learning objectives based on the taxonomy of B. Bloom, with the idea of »cross-cutting topics», etc. subsequently passed into a practical analysis of the content and structure of the updated standard programs, in the implementation of specific training tasks. In the classroom, it was also about the development of critical thinking of school students, the development of functional literacy of students, the system of criteria-based assessment, the differentiation of learning, the three-stage structure of the lesson (challenge, comprehension, reflection), design thinking, etc.

In the final part of the course, students presented their short-term lesson plans for Russian language and literature through computer presentations. Kurbanbayeva Z., Dauenova Zh., Oktambek A., Dyusembayeva Z., Marup D. and others performed excellent defense of their lesson plans.

In conclusion, it is important to note once again that future subject teachers, future language teachers should be ready to work in the new educational situation that Kazakh schools are experiencing today. We hope that they will be able to successfully use in the upcoming pedagogical practice the scientific and methodological information and specific practical recommendations that were voiced in the framework of the lecture cycle read. We wish graduate students to successfully conduct the upcoming annual industrial teaching practice!
