Heads of Kazakhstani educational institutions took part in the World Forum


From 4 to 6 April 2019, heads of leading universities of Kazakhstan took part in the Global Forumfor Higher Education and Scientific Research, held in the new administrative capital of Egypt.

 

The event was attended by heads of state universities, directors of research institutes, prominent scientists, experts, politicians, representatives of private companies and public figures.

 

The participants discussed the development of human resources in modern conditions, issues of technical progress and ways to use effectively the benefits of the 4th industrial revolution. The President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi spoke at the opening of the forum. He said that the forum will play a key role in addressing the issues of sustainable development of higher education and research, and called for joint efforts in this direction.

 

During the event, the rector of the Eurasian National University, academician Yerlan Sydykov, the rector of KazNPU Takir Balykbayev and the first vice-rector of Al-Farabi KazNU Mukhambetli Burkitbayev met with the Minister of Higher Education and Science of Egypt, Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar.

 

The parties discussed ways to strengthen scientific and academic cooperation between the two countries. The Egyptian Minister was informed about the achievements of our country in the field of education and science, in particular, about the progress of Kazakhstani universities in international rankings. The Kazakh side proposed to create an alliance between the Association of Universities of Central Asia and the Federation of Arab Universities with the aim of strengthening inter-university relations with the Egyptian side.

 

In turn, H. Abdel-Gaffars noted with satisfaction the historical ties between Kazakhstan and Egypt, which are being actively developed at the strategic level. He expressed interest in intensifying cooperation in the field of education and science, using the high level of political dialogue between the two countries. The Minister noted that this year, the Federation of Arab Universities is headed by Egypt, and supports the proposal of Kazakhstan to create an alliance between regional federations.

 

In addition, the implementation of the agreement on the establishment of a branch of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in the newly opened Galyal State University in Egypt was discussed.

 

The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of the Universities of Egypt, Mohammed Mustafa, Rector of the University Ain-Shams Abdel-Wahhab Izzat and Vice-Rector of Cairo University Aiman ​​al-Khatib, as well as a number of scientists and specialists.

 

During the visit, the Kazakh academic delegation met with the Rector of Al-Azhar University Mohammed Al-Mahrasiu, discussed issues of cooperation between the ancient university and Kazakhstan universities in various fields.

 

Kazakhstani scientists also met with deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Egypt, major businessmen working in the field of education and scientific research in order to explore the possibilities of cooperation in the field of higher education and innovation. Mutually beneficial agreements were reached.

 

During the trip, the heads of educational institutions of both countries visited the mosque of Sultan Beibars - the great personality of the Kazakh steppe, which is being restored and worshiped the spirit of our ancestor. In addition, they visited the central park of Cairo and laid flowers at the statue of the great Kazakh poet Abai.
