International Round Table «Russian Language and Literature in the Modern World»

 

On 5 April 2018, within the framework of the University Decade of Science at the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education, an international roundtable on the theme «Russian Language and Literature in the Modern World» was organized by the Chair of Russian Language and Literature.


With a salutatory speech the vice-rector on scientific work and international cooperation Aktolkyn Kulsarieva has acted. She dwelt on the relevance of the topic of the scientific meeting, cordially greeted its participants and foreign guests and wished everyone fruitful work. On behalf of the university`s leadership, Aktolkyn Kulsarieva invited all the participants of the international roundtable to the ceremonial events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Abai KazNPU.


Irina Pereverzeva, Consul of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Almaty, noted in her speech the eternal importance of the Russian language as a language of interethnic communication. Irina Pereverzeva is an old business partner and friend of our university. Despite her busy schedule, she always responds to our invitations. Her performances are remembered by listeners with their emotionality and depth.


Professor Damina Shaybakova spoke with the report «Russian as Pluri-centric». Her speech showed the audience one of the scientific directions of studying the Russian language in the aspect of sociolinguistics.


Frequent guests of the department of the Russian language and literature are senior pupils of the Special Lyceum No. 165. The teacher of this lyceum, famous teacher, c.f.s., Marina Asylbekova is a graduate of our university. This time the schoolchildren shared their understanding of the processes that are taking place today in the language of the younger generation.


Sincere interest of the audience was caused by the message of the second year master student Nurgul Yerkabylova on the topic «Observations over the speech of bilingual Kazakhstan people». On examples from the living speech of their peers, from the language of the media, fiction and the speech of the heroes of the Kazakh cinema, the young researcher showed the typology of the features of bilingual speech, proposed a classification of the variants of the interference of languages.


C.f.s., Svetlana Nikitina was a member of the chair of Russian Language and Literature two years ago. Having moved to Russia, she remains true to her profession. The position of Deputy Director of the Moscow Region Gymnasium on scientific and methodological work allows Svetlana Nikitina to make interesting observations on the state of the Russian language in Russia and Kazakhstan.


A frequent guest of the chair is the chairman of the Association of Russian School Teachers of Kazakhstan Natalia Vdovina. In her speech, she spoke about the successes of Kazakhstan schoolchildren at the international olympiads in the Russian language. The Association annually conducts advanced training courses for teachers of schools with the Russian language of instruction. During the summer holidays, primary school teachers and teachers of the Russian language and literature pass an internship in different educational centers in Russia.


An amusing, but instructive scene was shown by graduating students, winners of the Republican Olympiad in the Russian language and literature of last year. They laughed at the thoughtless bearers of youth slang and wished the words of the poet Vadim Shefner "that speech - a human miracle - did not skew in our days".


In her closing speech, the head of chair of the Russian language and literature Saule Abisheva spoke about the importance of the Russian language and literature in the modern world, their full functioning and development in Kazakhstan. Addressing the students, Saule Abisheva expressed her hope that today`s scientific meeting will not only be informative, but will remain in memory with its bright and creative atmosphere.
