Abai KazNPU supported "Almaty Marathon 2018"

 

On 22 April 2018 Almaty Marathon -2018" was held in Almaty

 

Almaty Marathon is an annual international race competition, the largest sporting event in Central Asia. For seven years, this mass race gathers thousands of like-minded people, who are allowed to run through the main automobile streets and avenues of the country`s largest city.

 

The goal of the marathon is popularization of running and Nordic walking, preparation of runners for international marathon competitions, support of charitable projects of national importance, creation of favorable conditions for juniors in further competitions, rejection of bad habits, and formation of a healthy nation.

 

Almaty marathon is also a charity event.

 

All collected funds are sent for the implementation of various charitable programs. Thus, more than 17 million tenge collected within the framework of Almaty Marathon - 2018, will go to 3 children`s institutions:

1. The first children`s hospice for children with cancer "I`m with you";

2. Special (correctional) boarding school № 6 for children with intellectual disabilities;

3. Regional special boarding school for children with visual impairments in the city of Esik.

 

On these funds in three institutions will be built sports grounds and purchased the necessary sports equipment.

 

According to official data, this year more than 14 thousand runners from 38 countries of the world took part in the marathon. Participants ran a distance of 10 kilometers.

 

Rector Takir Balykbayev, head of the student circle "Leader" Anar Alimbekova and students of the "Leader" circle of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology Sunat Raimov and Sunkar Mysir took part in the sporting event. More than 20 students of the University took an active part in the marathon as volunteers and fans.

 

We are proud of the participants of "Almaty Marathon" and thank the organizers and sponsors of the marathon for a useful and pleasant event of international scale.
