Eurasian Scientific Conference "Inverse and Ill-posed Problems in Natural Science and Artificial Intelligence"

From April 16th to April 20th, the Eurasian Scientific Conference "Inverse and Ill-posed Problems in Natural Science and Artificial Intelligence" took place in Almaty, with representatives from Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey participating. The conference was organized by Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, the National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Institute of Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling of the Kazakh National Academy of Sciences, the International Foundation for Inverse Problems, the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok, and the Russian National Committee for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.

Among the members of the International Program Committee are Acadimitions of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan M.O. Otelbayev, T.S. Kalmenov, M.N. Kalimoldaev; Acadimitians of the Russian Academy of Sciences B.N. Chetverushkin, E.E. Tyrtysnikov, A.L. Semenov, A.A. Shananin, M.P. Fedoruk; professors Znang Ye (Shenzhen MSU-BIT University, Shenzhen, China), Alemdar Hasanoglu (Izmir, Turkey), Abit Asanov (Manas University, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan), Abdygani Satybaev (Osh University, Osh, Kyrgyzstan); as well as specialists in inverse problems from Kazakhstan: M.A. Bektemesov - Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Deputy Chairman of the International Program Committee, K.S. Abdiev - Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Turan University, K.T. Iskakov - Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, L.N. Kasenov - PhD, Associate Professor, al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Scientific Secretary of the International Program Committee, A.N. Alimova - PhD, KMG Engineering; specialists in inverse problems from Russia: I.V. Marchuk (Dean of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Novosibirsk State University), M.A. Shishlenin (Deputy Director for Science, Sobolev Institute of Mathematics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences), O.I. Krivorotko (Head of the Research Department, Mathematical Modeling Center, Sobolev Institute of Mathematics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences).

The presentations of the conference participants are devoted to current issues in the theory and numerical methods of solving inverse problems in natural sciences and machine learning.
Chairman of the Russian National Committee for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences E.E. Tyrtysnikov, discussed well-posed formulations of ill-posed problems. In the presentation by Academician of the National Academy of Sciences T.S. Kalmenov, a criterion for the solvability of the overdetermined Cauchy problem for the hyperbolic Gellerstedt equation was presented. Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences S.I. Kabanihin spoke about linear regularization methods for nonlinear inverse problems. Professor Zhang Ye talked about generalized asymptotic regularization of inverse and ill-posed problems.

All of these presentations are directly related to machine learning problems, where the goal is to find the optimal weights of the neural network given the training data (a typical inverse ill-posed problem). This will significantly reduce computations and enhance the efficiency of applying artificial intelligence in natural sciences problems.

The applications discussed at the conference cover virtually all of the planet`s most critical issues: ecology, economics, epidemiology, social processes, earth and life sciences, neural networks, and mathematical problems in artificial intelligence.
