Winter School in St. Petersburg

Marina Asylbekova, the lecturer of the Department of Russian Language and Literature of Abai KazNPU became a participant of advanced training courses "Teaching Russian language and Russian literature for high school children", which were held in St. Petersburg. The courses were organized by Ruscollaboration together with the Committee on External Relations of St.Petersburg. The classes were conducted by teachers of the St. Petersburg Academy of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education named after K.D. Ushinsky.

47 teachers from 9 countries of the near and far abroad received the "city as a gift" within 6 days. Topical topics were discussed in interactive classes. This is "Russian language as a phenomenon", "Semantic reading of texts of different nature. Russian language texts", "The use of modern pedagogical technologies that stimulate the cognitive activity of students in Russian language lessons", "Corpus technologies in Russian language lessons". The teachers of Russian language from different countries shared their experiences and best practices at two round tables ("What should be the lesson?" and "Learning the Russian language as part of Russian culture"). The meeting with Valentin Golovin, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Director of the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House) of Russian Academy of Sciences, was also memorable for the audience.

The cultural program has been carefully thought out. A sightseeing tour of the city, excursions to literary museums, acquaintance with the manuscripts of writers of the XIX century in Pushkin House left vivid impressions. The result of this program was the emergence of horizontal connections, friendly contacts of teachers.

Pedagogical generosity of the teachers of the APPE named after Ushinsky will be continued in the teaching practice of Kazakhstani teachers.
