International cooperation
International cooperation at the Faculty of Natural Science and Geography (Faculty) is an important component of academic and scientific work. Cooperation plays an important role in the development of scientific research, the exchange of knowledge and the strengthening of ties between scientists and educational institutions in different countries.
The Faculty, together with the Center for the Promotion of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) of Okayama University (Japan), with the assistance of UNESCO for Research and Education for Sustainable Development, are working on the project “Promoting Teacher Education for Climate Change Education through Collaboration between Asian Centers of Excellence on Education for Sustainable Development (2021-2023). The project involves scientists from nine Asian countries, such as: China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines and Thailand.
The faculty conducts collaborative scientific research under the "Green Technologies" project aimed at strengthening integration between Abai University (Kazakhstan) and Fudan University (China). The project focuses on developing joint approaches in sustainable development, ecological modernization, and scientific cooperation among Asian countries.
The faculty participates in the Flagship Research Groups Programme of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) — “Scientific tourism research to build a sustainable green future: exploring the innovative development and livability of rural and urban areas in the transition to a circular economy.” Organizer: Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE), Gödöllő, Hungary.
The "SCOPUS Q1/Q2 Publication Project" is being implemented in collaboration with the University of Széchenyi (Győr, Hungary), aimed at increasing scientific publication activity and expanding international academic cooperation through joint preparation of articles for SCOPUS journals in the first and second quartiles.
Teaching staff of the Faculty studied under the International Program “Bolashak”at leading universities and research centers in the world, for example George Washington University (Washington, USA), Necmettin Erbakan University (Konya, Turkey), Sapienza – Università di Roma (Rome, Italy), University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (Illinois, USA), University of California Davis (California, USA), University of Reading (UK) Under the academic mobility program, students of the Faculty study at universities in Poland, Japan, Lithuania, Turkey, Uzbekistan and other countries. Undergraduates and doctoral students undergo scientific internship at the universities of Poland, Belarus, Russia, Turkey, Lithuania and other countries.
The Faculty holds annual international conferences and youth forums in all scientific areas of the institute, in which scientists from many CIS countries, Europe and Asia participate. This provides an opportunity for scientists to present their research, exchange new ideas and establish contacts with colleagues from different countries.
