Head of the Academy Darkhan Kydyrali took part in the international online symposium on "Abay - the great figure of the Turkic world"
An international online symposium on "Abay - the great figure of the Turkic world", organized by the Institute of Turkic World Studies of the Aegean University of Turkey, the Abay Academy of the Eurasian National University and the Nemat Kelimbetov Center for Turkic Studies of Kazakh National Pedagogical University, has started today.
Among participants of the meeting dedicated to the 175th anniversary of great Kazakh poet Abay are about 60 Abay scholars from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tatarstan (Russia), Khakassia (Russia) and the United States.
President of the International Turkic Academy Darkhan Kydyrali, Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY Bilal Çakici, Chairman of the Turkish Language Society, Professor Gurer Gulsevin, Rector of the Aegean University Necek Budak, Chairman of the Eurasian Union of Writers Yakub Omeroglu and leaders of a number universities from Turkic-speaking countries took part in the meeting.
At the meeting, head of the Turkic Academy Darkhan Kydyrali told about the work done by the Academy within the framework of the Year of Abay and wished success to the international conference.
It should be noted that the online symposium will last until November 27.
