Pedagogical Integration – Master Class for Students by School Teachers on Implementing the Singapore Methodology in Primary Education


27–On October 27–29, 2025, the Department of Primary Education of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University hosted a city scientific and practical seminar entitled ~Innovative Approaches in Primary Education and STEM Learning~, organized jointly with the City Scientific and Methodological Center for New Technologies in Education of the Almaty Department of Education. The seminar was organized by Professors A.E. Zhumabayeva, L.A. Lebedeva and A.B. Akpayeva, and moderated by senior lecturers Zh.K. Astambayeva and Zh.E. Zhumash. For students of the Primary Education program, teachers from Almaty schools — Gymnasiums No. 8, 34, 117, 138, M. Makataev Gymnasium No. 140, M. Mаметова Lyceum-School No. 28, Schools No. 173, 82, 87, 128, 181, 159, 214, and Kazakhstan-Russian Gymnasium No. 38 named after M.V. Lomonosov — conducted a series of master classes based on their training experience in Singapore. A key feature of the seminar was the practical interaction between students and teachers who demonstrated the application of the Singapore methodology, modern approaches to developing reading literacy, and effective strategies for integrating STEM learning into primary school curricula. Each master class was built around real examples, case studies, and practical tasks, allowing students to observe how theoretical principles of pedagogy are implemented in real school practice. The seminar also featured teachers from NGS, a partner school for dual education, who have been successfully applying the Singapore methodology in primary classrooms for several years. The event fostered a productive exchange of views and professional dialogue. Participating teachers noted the high engagement and motivation of students, as well as their interest in mastering modern pedagogical technologies. The seminar took place in an atmosphere of collaboration, idea exchange, and professional unity between schools and the university.
