Discussion of the «Five Social Initiatives of the President»

On 7 March 2018 at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, was held a meeting of the Academic Council in an expanded format, at which the content of the appeal of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to the people «Five Social Initiatives of the President» was discussed.

Rector Takir Balykbayev, vice-rectors, members of the Academic Council and heads of the University`s structural divisions took part in the work of the Academic Council.

Rector Takir Balykbayev emphasized the urgency, strategic character and thorough detailing of President Nursultan Nazarbayev`s address to the people of Kazakhstan «Five Social Initiatives of the President» in his opening speech. Among the initiatives put forward by the Head of State the third initiative deserves a particular attention - improving the accessibility and quality of higher education and improving the living conditions of student youth. This initiative is aimed at ensuring the creation of conditions for the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of information technology, robotics, nanotechnology and other fields that will be in demand in the new economy under the conditions of the fourth industrial revolution. With the care of the youth, the President raises the issue of providing students with hostels. Rector Takir Balykbayev noted that the University also faces an important task - to maximize the living conditions of our students in hostels. In this regard, he proposed to develop a specific mechanism for coordinating our own resources to explain and implement the ideas of the Head of State.

Director of the Institute of Natural History and Geography Kulyash Kaimuldinova and head of the chair of Political Science and Socio-Philosophical Disciplines Raushanbek Absattarov delivered speeches at the meeting.

During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on the issues of qualitative implementation of the tasks of the Address of Nursultan Nazarbayev. They unanimously recognized the Five Social Initiatives of the President as an important strategic document of great social importance and proposed solutions to such issues as providing housing for residents of Kazakhstan, reducing the tax burden on the population, increasing access and improving the quality of education, and improving microcredit and gasification opportunities for countries.

Summing up the meeting, the members of the Academic Council and other participants in the discussion supported the President`s appeal to the people of Kazakhstan and called upon all citizens of the country to take an active part in its discussion and implementation.
