«Changing harmful media habits» and «50 tips on media literacy»

 

Especially for Honors college students, a presentation of the project "Changing harmful media habits" and "50 tips on media literacy" was held, which was presented by media trainers: Baktygul Burbaeva, Zhuldyz Abdilda, Yesengul Kapkyzy.

 

The speakers spoke about the information age, about the critical perception of information, how to distinguish between fakes and deepfakes, about the important stages of fact-checking, about the importance of media ethics. And also that the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted in the Information Doctrine that it is important that the population of the country should be media literate.

 

Most importantly, media trainers offered to take additional training in the subject "Media and information literacy" (included in the state educational program as an elective subject).

 

Honors College students defended their assignments with slides and digital games. The presentation was held at a high level, at the end of the presentation, media coaches handed media books to students.
