Team of the DAAD international project in Germany

Scholars and students of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University are participating in the international DAAD project "The Network on International Education in South Caucasus and Central Asia at the Intersection of Educational Spaces" (NIE-SCCA-EdSp) for the 2025-2026 years.

As part of the project`s implementation this year, 7 research workshops dedicated to issues of international education were held, and an international hybrid-format conference took place at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (Baku).

Currently, a working visit of the Abai University research team is taking place at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Germany.

Participants from Abai University include: Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Ulzharkyn Abdigapbarova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Kamarsulu Ibrayeva, PhD Madina Moldagali, and students Shugyla Zhumabay and Akzhol Musilim.

During the visit, the following events were held:
• A seminar led by Prof. Dr. Anatoli Rakhkochkin on "Current Problems and Research Results in the Field of International Education (Systematic and Interdisciplinary Perspectives)", where participants discussed modern approaches to international education studies, interdisciplinary methods, and joint research outcomes.
• Consultations with Dr. Yashar Musayev regarding the work of thematic project groups.
• A meeting with Derya Bugur and Melisa Muminovic (Department of Islamic-Religious Studies, Bavarian Research Center for Interreligious Discourses - BaFID) to discuss prospects for collaboration in interreligious and intercultural dialogue within educational contexts.
• Discussions with Prof. Lutz Edzard, Vice Dean for Internationalization at the Faculty of Philosophy and Theology at FAU, focused on developing academic mobility and organizing joint research activities.

A special highlight of the visit was a meeting with the FAU university President, Prof. Dr. Ing. Joachim Hornegger, and Vice President, Prof. Dr. Andreas Hirsch. Abai University was represented by the project coordinator, Professor Uljarkyn Abdigapbarova.

The working visit continues, aiming to strengthen academic cooperation, exchange experiences, and expand international partnerships among universities of Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and Germany.
