International Literary Challenge “On the Wave of Abai”

We invite you to join the International Literary Challenge (7 June - 10 August 2025) entitled "On the Wave of Abai", dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the birth of the great Kazakh poet and educator.

The aim of the challenge is to promote the literary and spiritual heritage of Abai Kunanbayev. The plan is to bring together 180 participants from different countries who will read Abai`s poems in different languages.

This will be an opportunity to strengthen cultural dialogue and expand international cooperation in the field of philological education.

Anyone can participate, whether they are a professional philologist or simply interested in the literature and culture of Kazakhstan.

Format: participants are invited to create an original video in which they read excerpts from Abai`s works in any language and post it on social media with the hashtags: #НаВолнеАбая / #AbajNaFali / #TheAbaiWave.

The initiator of the project is Maxim Ponomarenko, PhD, literary scholar, promoter of Kazakh culture in Poland and graduate of the Department of Russian Language and Literature at Abai University.
