THE POTENTIAL OF THE FIGMA PROGRAM IN DESIGN EDUCATION

A practical master class on the Figma program was held at the Almaty College of Fashion and Design (ACFD) for students studying design-related specialties. The event was conducted by Ainur Almasovna Malaeva, Master`s degree holder and lecturer of the Design Department at the Faculty of Arts of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.

Approximately 25 students took part in the event and demonstrated strong interest in modern digital design tools. The main objective of the master class was to introduce students to the capabilities of the Figma program and to demonstrate how it can be used in creating interfaces, visual concepts, and design projects. During the session, students became familiar with the program`s interface, its key functions, and the principles of working with frames, components, grids, and styles. Special attention was also given to the application of Figma in fashion design, graphic design, and visual project presentation. The advantages of the program for teamwork and idea presentation were also discussed. Throughout the event, students completed practical tasks, asked questions of interest, and received professional guidance.

This master class contributed to enhancing students` digital competencies, broadening their professional outlook, and helping them understand the requirements placed on modern designers. Holding such events is an important part of the educational process, as it enables students to master in-demand tools, improve their practical skills, and confidently navigate the contemporary design environment.
