THE REPUBLICAN YOUTH AYTYSH OF POETS WAS HELD
Today, in the sacred karashanyrak, the First Republican Youth Aitysh of Poets titled “Қазақта қара сөзге дес бермедім” (“In Kazakh speech, none could surpass me”) was held. The event was organized by Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University and the International Union of Aitysh Poets and Traditional Performers (zhyrshy-termershe). Fourteen young talents from 10 regions and 12 leading universities of the country took part in the poetic duel, which ignited the spirit of kara ölen.
The large-scale competition, aimed at reviving national art, widely popularizing aitysh, and developing the improvisational skills of young poets, was dedicated to the 210th anniversary of Suinbai Aronuly, the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayev, and the 50th anniversary of the master of aitysh Orazaly Dosbosynov.
Opening the republican competition, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Abai University Bolat Tilep emphasized the importance and spiritual significance of this art form and wished success to all participants. The general sponsor of the aitysh, director of the domestic company “Taza Brand” Zhibek Amankeldina, stressed that supporting national art and assisting young talents is the civic duty of every domestic producer.
The jury panel, presiding over the witty and humorous poetic duel, included: – poet and cultural figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan, head of the Almaty branch of the International Union of Aitysh Poets and Traditional Performers, Serik Kaliyev (chairman of the jury); – poet, member of the Writers Union of Kazakhstan, and mentor of Orazaly Dosbosynov, Daubai Abdisayev; – distinguished cultural and information specialist, head of the Almaty branch of “Qazaq Radiolary” Bakyt Kutpanbai; – director of the “Hakim Abai” Research Center of Abai University and Candidate of Philological Sciences, Zhabal Shoiynbet; – poet and distinguished cultural figure, Shugaiyp Sezimkhan.
During the qualifying round, 14 poets showcased their skills, after which 8 of them, who received the highest scores from the jury, advanced to the second round. While the jury evaluated the performances, university students presented a concert program on stage.
Based on the results of the competition, the Grand Prix was awarded to Arai Nuradin, a student of K. Zhubanov University from Aktobe region. She received a monetary prize of 400,000 tenge. First place went to Daniyar Bolatkhan, a student of Abai University (Almaty), who received 300,000 tenge. Second place was shared by Sanzhar Dayarbek (Abai University, Almaty) and Aiganym Balgabayeva (East Kazakhstan Region, S. Amanzholov University), each receiving 200,000 tenge. Third place and prizes of 150,000 tenge each were awarded to four participants: – Marsel Ersaiynov (Astana, Kazakh National University of Arts named after K. Baiseitova); – Zhanerke Kambar (Zhambyl Region, University named after Sh. Murataza); – Nurbek Bakir (Pavlodar Region, A. Margulan University); – Dilnaz Erzhegít (Kyzylorda Region, Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University).
The remaining poets received special nominations with monetary awards of 100,000 tenge each: – Special Prize named after Esenkul Zhakypbekov – Erasyl Seitzhanuly (Astana, L.N. Gumilyov ENU); – Special Prize named after Serik Ydyrysov – Arystan Agybai (Almaty Region, SDU); – Special Prize named after Siyazbek Suleimenov – Serikbol Bazylbek (Mangystau Region, Yessenov University); – Special Prize named after Erik Askarov – Daniyal Bolysbek (Turkistan Region, South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University named after Uzbekali Zhanibekov); – Special Prize named after Temirkhan Tebegenov – Abylai Kairatuly (Almaty, Al-Farabi KazNU); – Special Prize named after Khasen Samatyrov – Magzhan Sauytbek (Shymkent, College of Arts).
It is noted that on the previous day, the Orazaly Dosbosynov Youth Poets Center — named after the university graduate, a master of aitysh, and a sharp-tongued poet — was modernized and officially reopened at Abai University. The center will offer lectures and opportunities for young poets to enhance their skills. Its main mission is to revive national art, popularize aitysh, and develop the improvisational talent of young poets. In the future, the Orazaly Center plans to regularly hold republican and international youth aitysh competitions.
