International Scientific Seminar of Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language

On March 28, 2024, at Abai KazNPU together with A.S. Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language(Russia) an international seminar "Pushkin and Abai. Two geniuses of two nations" was held. The international seminar was attended by educational and scientific organizations of Kazakhstan and Russia: Abai KazNPU, A.S. Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language, Akhmet Baitursynov Institute of Linguistics, Specialized Lyceum №165, A.I. Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University, Omsk State Pedagogical University, Altai State Pedagogical University.

The conference participants focused on the creative work of two great geniuses who became the personification of the national cultures of Russia and Kazakhstan - Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin and Abai Kunanbayev.
Maria Lebedeva, Head of the Laboratory of Cognitive and Linguistic Research at Pushkin State University, conducted a master class on the topic "Neural networks in the hands of a teacher: using modern technologies in Russian language lessons".

Irina Leshutina, Professor of the Department of Methods of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language at Pushkin State University, "Game modeling in pedagogical activity", aroused great interest, in which she shared her experience working with foreign students.

During the literary event "The Soul in the cherished Lyre": Pushkin and Abai" Murat Mirzakhmetov, Abai researcher, lecturer at the Department of Kazakh Literature and Teaching Methods of Abai KazNPU, spoke about the philosophical, cultural, ethical and literary heritage of Pushkin and Abai. He noted the role of the outstanding Kazakh poet, thinker in the life of the Kazakh people and in popularizing the works of Russian poet A.S. Pushkin.

Saule Abisheva, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Head of the Department of Russian Language and Literature of Abai KazNPU, spoke about the cooperation between the University and Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language.

Elmira Afanasyeva, Doctor of Philology, Chief Researcher at the Laboratory of Philological Research of Pushkin State University spoke about the translations of Abai`s works into other languages and about the experience of multidimensional study of the poet`s work.

The guests highly appreciated the organization of the international seminar. At the end of the seminar, words of gratitude were expressed to the organizers and the prospect of joint scientific projects was discussed.
