The rector of KazNPU was awarded the medal «100 years of Mahmud Kashgari»

 

On April 11, 2019, the rector Takir Balykbayev met with representatives of the Mahmud Kashgari International Foundation Agadzhafar Hasanali and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Kazakhstan Ramil Rzayev at Abai KazNPU. The meeting was also attended by the chairman of the Kurdish Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the head of the department of oriental philology and translation of Abai KazNPU, a member of the APK Kniyaz Mirzoyev.


During the meeting, Agadzhafar Hasanali spoke about the activities of the Mahmud Kashgari International Foundation. «The fund was formed more than 14 years ago in the capital of Azerbaijan, in Baku, at the initiative of well-known figures of the Turkic world. The main goal of the fund is to bring together the history and cultures of the Turkic peoples, the development of cooperation between states through the prism of historical and cultural ties». He also reported on the decision of the presidium of the Mahmud Kashgari Foundation for great services in the development of pedagogical, humanitarian and natural sciences, as well as education in Kazakhstan, for successfully managing the oldest higher educational institution of the Republic of Kazakhstan in training scientific and pedagogical personnel to award the rector of Abai KazNPU Takir Balykbayev with the medal «100 years of Mahmud Kashgari» and presented this award.


Famous scientists, writers, heads of leading educational institutions, public and political figures in the Turkic world, such as: ex-President of Turkey Suleyman Demirel, Honorary President of the Foundation, Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Isa Gabit Bailey and others, were also awarded.


Representative of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kazakhstan Ramil Rzayev, congratulating on behalf of his country the rector of Abai KazNPU wished further success. He also noted the importance of the meeting in strengthening the common values of the two states in the field of education and science.


At the end of the meeting, Takir Balykbayev thanked the foreign guests, noting that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have long-standing warm and good relations. Guests were presented with symbolic gifts on behalf of the university.
