19.11.2025 HONG KONG SCHOLARS GIVE LECTURES AT ABAI UNIVERSITY As part of Abai University’s 2023–2029 development program, today renowned scholars from one of China’s leading universities – the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) – began lectures on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in inclusive education. In this context, the experts met with faculty members and students of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology. Leveraging artificial intelligence in inclusive education is a highly relevant topic in modern pedagogical science. Experienced scholars from EdUHK – Professor Kenneth Sin, a leading expert in education, Professor Yanzhe Sun, a researcher of AR/VR technologies and the metaverse, and Dr. Kevin Yuén, a specialist in speech and hearing processes – will be in Kazakhstan for one month to conduct lectures at Abai University. The meeting was opened by Gulmira Nietbayeva, acting dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, who outlined the university’s principles based on scientific openness, international cooperation, and innovation. The discussions highlighted new AI solutions in education, the development of an inclusive digital environment, enhancement of digital and professional competencies of special educators, AI-based teaching models, and the creation of interactive platforms using AR/VR technologies. Effective methods for applying AI algorithms to diagnose speech and hearing abilities in children aged 3–7 were also presented. Participants gained a deeper understanding of the role of modern technologies in improving education and explored innovative approaches based on international experience. Professional questions were addressed to foreign experts, and the session took the form of an open, substantive dialogue. This scientific exchange expanded the research horizons of young scholars in AI and inclusion and opened new avenues for collaborative research between foreign experts and young researchers at Abai University.
This meeting is expected to give impetus to Abai University’s transformational development goals and pave the way for new AI-based projects. In line with the university’s strategy to conduct joint research and implement innovative initiatives with the global scientific community, the meeting became an effective platform for bilateral knowledge exchange.
