PROFESSOR BIDAYBEKOV – A PROMINENT FIGURE IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

Today at the Akorda Palace, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev presented state awards to a group of citizens on the occasion of Republic Day. Among the awardees was Professor Yessen Ykhlasuly Bidaybekov of the Department of Informatics and Educational Informatization, Faculty of Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.

On October 25, 1990, the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Kazakh SSR was adopted — a milestone that marked the beginning of a new historical era and paved the way toward independence. This year marks the 35th anniversary of that significant event. On this occasion, President Tokayev delivered a speech at a ceremonial gathering in Akorda, congratulating the people of Kazakhstan on the national holiday.

In his address, the Head of State emphasized that “Independence is our highest value. Preserving and strengthening it is our sacred duty,” reminding everyone of the importance of valuing the nation’s greatest treasure. The President also highlighted that the future of Kazakhstan depends on its youth and urged young people to become honest and responsible citizens:

“An honest citizen is someone who respects their homeland, abides by the law, strives for knowledge, supports national values, and contributes to national unity. The progress of our country depends directly on such patriotic, disciplined, educated, cultured, active, and forward-thinking young people. The younger generation must understand that a person who believes in their own abilities, is diligent and self-reliant, will never depend on others. If each of our citizens is responsible, accurate, and organized, then our state will prosper,” said the President.

During the Republic Day ceremony, the President presented state awards to citizens who made significant contributions to the scientific, educational, socio-economic, cultural, and spiritual development of Kazakhstan, as well as to strengthening friendship and cooperation among nations. Among those honored was Professor Yessen Ykhlasuly Bidaybekov, who received the honorary title “Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the Republic of Kazakhstan” for his outstanding contribution to the country’s scientific and technical progress.

Professor Yessen Ykhlasuly Bidaybekov is a distinguished scholar who founded the scientific school of informatics teaching methodology in Kazakhstan. He holds a Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences degree (1998), is a Professor (since 2002), an academician of the Russian Academy of Informatization of Education and the International Academy of Informatization, and an Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
