ABAI UNIVERSITY STUDENTS CELEBRATED VICTORY

The past week ended on a high note for Abai University. Students of the university achieved outstanding results in two major sports tournaments, proudly becoming champions.

Over the weekend, two significant sports events took place in Almaty, determining the strongest competitors. At the Almaty City Boxing Championship and the Basketball Tournament for the Medeu District Akim’s Cup, Abai University students demonstrated excellent skills and achieved top results.

From October 13 to 18, the Almaty City Boxing Championship among youth born in 2008–2009 was held. Three first-year students majoring in “Physical Education and Sports” became champions: Ernіyaz Koishybay (55 kg category) — 1st place, Temіrlan Abdіraim (65 kg) — 1st place, and Ualikhan Kairatuly (80 kg) — 1st place. Nariman Yergali (55 kg) also showed a strong performance, taking 3rd place.

Additionally, on Saturday, the Abai University basketball team claimed victory at the Medeu District Akim’s Cup, held in honor of Republic Day. The team demonstrated exceptional preparation, unity, and skill, confidently earning the champion’s title.
