Abai University explained the Regulation on Mentorship Work of the Teaching Staff
On September 29, 2025, a meeting was held with the participation of Mr. Zhasulan Mukhashev, Director of the Department for Social and Youth Policy, to clarify the Regulation on Mentorship Work of the Teaching Staff, approved by the decision of the Board of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University on September 23, 2025 (Protocol No. 17).
A total of 127 mentors appointed across the university attended the session. During the meeting, Mr. Mukhashev outlined the main duties of mentors and the procedures for organizing mentorship activities. Key points included conducting educational and guidance work with students, holding weekly mentorship hours, assisting freshmen in adapting to university life, monitoring students` social conditions and academic performance, maintaining communication with parents, as well as protecting students` rights and providing moral and psychological support.
Additionally, the session clarified the requirements for mentors to prepare individual work plans at the beginning of the academic year, to hold mentorship hours at least twice a month, to submit written reports at the end of each semester, and to undergo evaluation of mentorship outcomes by the Department for Social and Youth Policy. The mentors were able to ask questions and receive comprehensive answers.
