International Day of Educators: New Ideas and a Platform for Professional Cooperation

On September 26, 2025, the Department of Preschool Education and Social Pedagogy of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University held a large-scale event entitled `Educator - the Gardener of a Child`s Soul`, dedicated to the International Day of Educators.

The aim of the event was to highlight the importance of the preschool education and upbringing profession, to foster pedagogical innovations and creative initiatives among future specialists, and to strengthen professional cooperation.

The event was opened by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the University, Banu Mukataevna Narbekova, who emphasized the significance of such meetings for the pedagogical community and underscored the relevance of combining knowledge with practical experience.

Director of the Department of Preschool Education of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Manara Adamova, and Director of the `Institute for Early Childhood Development,` Maria Ermanova, spoke about the main directions in the development of preschool education.

In addition, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, Aktoty Akzholova, and Chief Specialist of the Almaty City Resource Center for Preschool Education, Zhanar Anvarbekova, also took part in the event and shared their views.

Leading specialists from abroad joined online. Professor Anna Tsvetkova of the National Pedagogical University named after M. Drahomanov (Ukraine) and Dean of Fergana State University (Uzbekistan) Begzod Baidzhanov shared their international experiences.

Faculty members of the department also organized creative activities. Saule Erkebaeva and Aizhan Auezova conducted a master class titled `Inspiration and Mastery`, while Galiya Abylbakieva organized a fairy-tale competition `Into the World of Fantasy Following the Footsteps of Ancestors` among 2nd-4th year students and awarded the winners.

A video prepared by Zhanna Asankhanova entitled `Children`s Speech is the Sweetness of the Soul` and heartfelt greetings from children left a special impression on the audience.

The event concluded with a touching performance by the choir `Educator - Teacher`, presented by Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Nazira Atemkulova together with students.

In her closing remarks, Head of the Department, Ulbosyn Kyyakbayeva, expressed gratitude to the participants, congratulated first-year students on the beginning of the new academic year, and extended best wishes to all colleagues in the field of preschool education on their professional holiday.
