Majilis Deputy Yekaterina Smolyakova Visited Abai KazNPU

On July 12, 2025, Yekaterina Smolyakova, a deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, paid a working visit to Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.

As part of her visit, the deputy familiarized herself with the work of the university`s admissions committee and held a meeting with its members.

The meeting was attended by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Banu Narbekova, Director of the Department of Career Guidance and Development Almas Naimanbayev, and members of the admissions committee.

During the visit, Yekaterina Smolyakova was introduced to the activities of the Lorraine Branch, in particular, the admissions process, the demand for study programs at the branch, and faculty-specific admission procedures. Attention was also given to the issue of student housing and the operation of the "Situation Center," established to address arising challenges in this area.

In her speech, Yekaterina Smolyakova emphasized that one of the key tasks today is the preparation of high-quality teaching staff for the country`s schools.

"The presence of qualified specialists is the foundation of a bright future for the country. We are confident that Abai University, as a leader among Kazakhstan`s pedagogical institutions, plays an active role in the training, retraining, and professional development of such personnel," the deputy noted. She also highly praised the work of the admissions committee and expressed confidence that it is fully fulfilling its duties.
