27.05.2025 Representatives of Abai University participated in the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Training at the Pedagogical University of Tyrol From May 7 to 17, 2025, the Pedagogical University of Tyrol (Pedagogical University Tyrol, PHT) in Innsbruck, Austria, hosted a Staff Mobility for Training program under the Erasmus+ initiative. Representatives of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University - Vice-Rector for Strategy and Internationalization Aigul Iskakova and Director of the Department of International Cooperation Bayan Sapargaliyeva - took part in this program.
The Pedagogical University of Tyrol actively participates in numerous EU-funded projects under the Erasmus+ and LifeLong Learning programs, supported by the European Commission. The new generation of Erasmus+ programs enables funding for cooperation and training visits with partner universities beyond Europe. The university has received grants to develop collaboration with teacher training institutions in Israel, Thailand, India, Norway, Ireland, Malta, Germany, France, and Kazakhstan.
During the staff mobility program, various master classes, case presentations, and training sessions were conducted by university partners, focusing on the integration and use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education within their institutions.
Among the highlights were the following presentations: Discussion of opportunities and limitations of generative AI in teacher training, Overview of the "AI in Education" project as an approach to constructive and critical use of AI, "Digital assessment and monitoring of outcomes in vocational education", "Artificial intelligence, mindfulness, and attention regulation in digital classrooms", "Innovative formative assessments in the Ministry of Education: Engaging active learning to counter AI-generated assignments" and more.
The program also included: An interactive workshop on preparing traditional Austrian dishes, Visits to Austrian primary and secondary schools, including discussions with local educators, An Intercultural Brunch, where participants, together with students, presented national dishes of their countries, promoting cultural exchange and intercultural understanding.
The visit to the Pedagogical University of Tyrol provided an excellent opportunity to expand professional networks and strengthen the university`s presence on the international academic stage. It showcased best practices in international cooperation, including academic mobility, implementation of international projects, and support for international students.
