Open House Day Held at Abai University

On April 29, 2025, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University organized an Open House Day aimed at providing career guidance for this year`s high school graduates.

As the first higher education institution in the country with a century-long history, this esteemed university has trained thousands of qualified teachers and has made a tremendous contribution to the development of education in Kazakhstan.

During the official part of the event, Director of the Department for Academic Affairs Khairella Zhanbekov addressed the graduates and wished them success. Additionally, Sanjar Kuandyk, a graduate of Tolkyn Secondary School in the Enbekshikazakh district of Almaty region, who achieved the highest score of 140 on this year`s Unified National Testing, was specially honored and received a commemorative gift.

As part of the event, fashion designs prepared by students of the Department of Fashion and Design were presented to the public. A representative of the Almaty Regional Department of Education, Gulzhikhan Imankhatova, also delivered a congratulatory speech to the graduates.

A faculty fair was held during the Open House Day, and career guidance expert with 15 years of experience, Omarbek Koshkimbaiuly, gave a lecture titled "Choosing the Right Profession and How to Earn a Scholarship."

Director of the Department of Career Guidance and Career Development, Almas Naimanbayev, stated: "Currently, our university consists of one institute and eight faculties: the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute, the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography, the Faculty of Philology, the Faculty of History and Law, the Faculty of Art, the Faculty of Physical Education and Initial Military Training, and the Astana Department of Education. Each of them is adapted to meet modern demands and to provide high-quality training. Nearly 500 students from Almaty city, as well as the Almaty and Zhetysu regions, participated in today`s Open House Day."

The event concluded with a concert program and a quiz session.
