Abai University scientists discussed issues of common terminology in the Turkic world

Scientific researchers from the Nemat Kelimbetov Center for Turkic Studies at Abai KazNPU, led by scholar Sherubai Kurmanbayuly, visited Ege University in Izmir, Turkey, as part of a grant project titled "The Figures of Alash and the History of the Kazakh Literary Language in the Early 20th Century." During the visit, the staff of the Center for Turkic Studies held a seminar on "Issues of Common Terminology in the Turkic World" at the Institute of Turkic World Studies of Ege University.

During the roundtable discussion, Academician Sherubai Kurmanbayuly focused on the development of terminology during the era of the Alash figures and Ataturk. He also discussed issues of common terminology among modern independent Turkic states, paying special attention to the challenges in this field and prospects for future cooperation.

Sherubai Kurmanbayuly noted that the process of creating common terminology initially started successfully, but over time, Turkic countries faced obstacles, and the problem has now become even more acute. He emphasized the need for joint efforts to address issues of linguistic interaction among Turkic peoples and the importance of strengthening scientific cooperation in this direction.

The scientific event was attended by professors and researchers from the departments of language, history, literature, and folklore at Ege University. The seminar served as a platform for deepening research in the field of common terminology and creating prerequisites for resolving terminological issues among Turkic peoples.

The scholars agreed on the need to appeal to authoritative international and state organizations of the Turkic world to address this issue at the interstate level, as well as to prepare relevant proposals in the near future.

This seminar highlighted the importance of joint efforts to resolve issues of common terminology in the Turkic world and opened up new opportunities for future scientific projects and research.
