The Department is also the organization center in the preparation of scientific and pedagogical personnel for various educational institutions of the Republic. There were special Dissertational Councils for the protection of candidate and doctoral dissertations at the Department in different years. They were led by doctors of philology, professors S. Kirabayev, N. Gabdullin.

In 2016-2017 the Dissertation Council for a defend of the thesis for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree on specialty 6D010000 - Education (in the humanities), 6D011700 - The Kazakh language and literature were acted. The Chairman of the Dissertational Council was the academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, professor B.Smanov.

Along with the literary and scientific activities carried out by the Department one can especially notify the work of the student scientific society and the literary association named after S.Seifullin. The work of the literary association in different years was led by prominent scientists-literary scholars such as S.Seifullin, S.Erubayev, K.Zhumaliyev, K.Zharmaganbetov, H.Adibayev, T.Sydykov, T.Rakhymzhanov. Currently, it is headed by professor T.Tebegenov. For a long time, the work of the student scientific circle was led by Sh. Karibaev, N. Gabdullin, N. Kelimbetov, T. Tebegenov, T. Rakhymzhanov. At present the management of the circle is carried out by the doctor of Philology A.Tanzharykova.
