27.11.2025 PRESENTATION OF 20 BOOKS BY SCHOLAR MARAT BEKBOSYNOV
Today, a presentation was held for 20 books authored by literary scholar and Associate Professor of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Teaching Methods named after S. Kirabayev, academician Marat Bekbosynov. The unveiling of these research works took place at the event titled “Abay Studies and Historical Continuity in Kazakh Literary Heritage,” where the books were formally introduced to the public. The event brought together the country’s leading scholars, Abay experts, students, and Bekbosynov’s disciples. The purpose of the meeting was to widely present the scientific conclusions of Marat Nurgazyuly, as well as to offer a new perspective on the historical and spiritual connections between Abay’s legacy and national literature. The discussion focused on approaches to studying the works of the great Hakim. Opening the event, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Ertay Sultan emphasized the importance of studying Abay’s heritage for the development of national spirituality: “This is a unique moment when the results of in-depth research are presented to the community, marking a new stage for Abay studies as one of the key humanities disciplines. In the context of cultural and spiritual revival in the 21st century, scientifically examining Abay’s heritage and systematically analyzing its philosophical, ethical, and aesthetic aspects is one of the crucial tasks that define the future of Kazakh literature,” said the Vice-Rector. During the event, 70% of the presented books by Marat Bekbosynov were devoted to the legacy of the great thinker Abay Qunanbaiuly. Speakers at the presentation, including Dean of the Faculty of Philology Alua Tangzharikova, and scholars Baltabay Abdighaziuly, Serik Asylbekuly, and Serikkazy Sybanuly, highlighted the relevance of Bekbosynov’s works and provided a detailed exposition of their content. “The relevance of Marat Bekbosynov’s multi-volume works is manifested in several key aspects. Firstly, they fill gaps in history and literature. Secondly, most studies in the multi-volume series are considered within the framework of the struggle for independence. Thirdly, the research analyzes the artistic features of protest works against the colonial system, focusing on the expressive linguistic forms poets used to convey their dissent. Fourthly, new theoretical frameworks are applied in these works,” noted Abay studies expert Serikkazy Sybanuly. Marat Bekbosynov, who has reached the age of 65, emphasized that he devoted his entire life to creating these 20 books. In recognition of his long-standing scientific and pedagogical contributions, his colleagues honored him by draping a ceremonial shapan over his shoulders and expressed their sincere respect.
