24.11.2025 LECTURE HALL NAMED AFTER GAHIP UALIULY OPENED
Yesterday, at Abai University, a lecture hall named in honor of academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan and prominent mechanical scientist Gahip Ualiuly was officially inaugurated. The event was attended by leading academics of the country, friends, and family members of the scientist. The main goal of the event is to honor the spiritual heritage of outstanding figures who left a significant mark on Kazakh science and education, and to strengthen the connection between national pedagogical traditions and modern education. The ribbon of the lecture hall was cut by the professor, academic Meirbek Moldabayev and the vice-rector for academic affairs of Abai University, Banu Narbekova. The new lecture hall, opened at the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics, and Informatics, is fully equipped with modern teaching tools, an interactive board, and scientific-methodical materials. The room showcases materials about the life and scientific contributions of Gahip Ualiuly. The event moderator, Professor Maqtagali Bektemesov from Abai University, expressed gratitude to the family of the academician for supporting the opening of the lecture hall. “During the time when Gahip Ualiuly served as dean of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics, and Informatics at Abai University, this hall was a specialized training laboratory for professional preparation. Since then, the space has become an environment that deepens students’ practical skills and fosters scientific thinking. Naming the lecture hall after Gahip Ualiuly is not only a tribute to his work but also a symbolic reminder to future specialists of the importance of perseverance and responsibility in science,” said Sheripidin Khamraev, dean of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics, and Informatics. At the opening ceremony, academicians and scientists Amandyk Toleshev, Meirbek Moldabayev, and Gahip Ualiuly’s classmate Zhanuzak Tokybetov highlighted the scientist’s academic and pedagogical achievements. At the end of the event, Gahip Ualiuly’s wife Әspet Ualiyeva and son Zayyr Ualiyev expressed their gratitude to the Chairman-Rector of the University, Bolat Tilep, and to the staff who contributed to the opening of the lecture hall. It is worth noting that the prominent mechanical scientist Gahip Ualiuly is a laureate of the State Prize of Kazakhstan, a correspondent member of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, an academician of the Engineering Academy of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Technical Sciences, and Professor. He is known for his work in mechanics, dynamics of elastic node-variable systems, analysis and design of automated mechanisms, testing mechanics of machines, measurement and control devices, and electromechanical instruments. He has published over 150 scientific works, including 3 monographs, 3 textbooks, and 4 educational-methodical manuals. He is the author of more than 10 patents in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Kazakhstan, as well as an inventor of the USSR. Press Service
