MEETING HELD WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE AZERBAIJAN STATE UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS

Today, Abai University hosted an official meeting with representatives of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC). The purpose of the meeting was to expand academic and scientific cooperation between the two universities and to discuss prospects for joint projects and programs.

From the Azerbaijan State University of Economics, the meeting was attended by Mansur Barkhudarov, Associate Professor and Director of the Russian School of Economics; Leila Gadzhieva, Deputy Director of the Russian School of Economics; Fuad Gasymov, Director of the Center for Continuing Education; Rena Guseynova, Head of the Department for Coordination and Organization of the Activities of UNEC Research Centers; and Associate Professor Azer Garaev, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Finance.

From Abai University, the event was attended by Banu Narbekova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Aigul Iskakova, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Internationalization, who shared their views on the university’s development priorities and international cooperation directions.

“For Abai University, implementing initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education in partnership with international institutions is one of our key strategic objectives. I am confident that joint programs and research projects with UNEC will strengthen our university’s academic potential and open new opportunities for students and faculty,” noted Banu Narbekova.

During the meeting, the parties discussed potential areas of cooperation, the implementation of research projects, the expansion of academic mobility, and the strengthening of professional ties among faculty members. These efforts are expected to enhance the partnership between the two universities and pave the way for new joint initiatives.

The Azerbaijan State University of Economics is the largest economic higher education institution in Azerbaijan and an internationally recognized educational and research center. UNEC is the only university in Azerbaijan that offers education in Azerbaijani, Russian, English, and Turkish. In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in dual-degree programs implemented in cooperation with universities in the United Kingdom, France, Lithuania, and Switzerland.
