SEMINAR ON "LAW AND ORDER" RELATED TO DIGITAL SECURITY

 

In the current digital age, methods of fraud are rapidly evolving, and the number of crimes committed via the internet is increasing. Particularly, young people are becoming victims of scammers by believing in fake advertisements on social media and falling for the artificially crafted "glamorous lives" of influencers. In this regard, the importance of establishing a culture of cybersecurity in society has grown.

 

In response to this issue, a seminar on "Law and Order" was organized at Abai University as part of the "Digital Security Lessons" initiative to enhance the digital literacy of employees and students. The event featured speeches from the university is Board Chairman and Rector, Bolat Tilep, the Head of the Economic Investigation Department of Almaty Region, Alibek Tolepbergenov, World Weightlifting Champion Zhasulan Kydyrbaev, and a deputy of the Almaty Regional Maslikhat, Nursultan Orinbasarov. They explained the principles of "Law and Order" outlined by the President to the youth.

 

Opening the seminar, Rector Bolat Tilep emphasized that the principles of transparency, responsibility, and the rule of law, as outlined in President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is "New Kazakhstan" concept, are of particular importance for today is digital society.

 

– In today is world, protecting personal data, online security, and financial literacy should become essential skills for every citizen, – he stated.

 

During the seminar, speakers discussed various security issues in the online information space, including the impact of fake advertisements by bloggers on young people. They stressed the importance of preventing security threats, verifying information, and fostering a culture of protecting personal data, while emphasizing the significance of enhancing literacy and education.

 

Meruert Erkinqyzy, a senior representative of the Economic Investigation Department of Almaty Region, demonstrated how to improve security using artificial intelligence. She provided practical advice on how to properly use smartphone features such as Face ID, PIN codes, and biometric fingerprint scanners, and how to secure them. Participants were also informed that additional materials on cybersecurity hygiene could be accessed through the "Law and Order" social media page.

 

At the end of the seminar, participants took a sample test on personal data protection and had the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session with the speakers.
